The meeting was called to order at 3:09 p.m.
- The minutes of September 27, 2004 were approved with minor changes.
- Announcements/Discussions
- The Academic Grievance policy was revisited. During the summer an ad hoc committee met to revise and shorten the academic grievance procedure. The Undergraduate Council approved the updated academic grievance procedure pending revisions to the wording.
- The FF Grade Policy has been revised. The Undergraduate Council discussed and then approved the revised FF Grade Policy.
- The New General Education Policy proposal was discussed. While the Undergraduate Council agreed with the content of the proposal, the Council requested clarification of the implementation of the proposal and the relationship between the two bodies.
- The following program revisions were handled via email:
- Criminology Program revision - Approved
- Accounting Minor Revision - Approved
- English Education Program Revision - Approved
- Social Science Program Revision - Approved
- New course/curriculum proposals
- College of Business Administration - change to limited access requirements for COBA
This item has been TABLED until it can be reviewed by Dean Anderson and Provost Khator.
- College of Business Administration
The College of Business Administration would like to establish limited access criteria for the School of Accountancy. Following discussion, this proposal was not approved by a 4-3 vote.
- Accelerated Course of Study for Nursing Majors with Bachelors Degrees in Other Fields
This course of study would allow nursing students who have already obtained a baccalaureate degree to earn a nursing degree at an accelerated pace. Following discussion and changes to courses, this major was approved.
- NUR 4091 Accelerated Fundamentals Laboratory
This course deals with the experiences in the fundamental skills of clinical nursing practice. The focus is on applying the nursing process and developing nursing psychomotor skills. Following discussion and lowering the course to the undergraduate level, this course was approved.
- NUR 4092L Accelerated Integrated Clinical I
This course focuses on critical thinking, effective communication and nursing interventions for individuals of all ages in the in-patient and community settings. Following discussion and lowering the course to the undergraduate level, this course was approved.
- NUR 4093L Accelerated Integrated Clinical II
This courses focuses on nursing interventions for the patient with physical and mental health problems. Following discussion and lowering the course to the undergraduate level, this course was approved.
