- AS program to BS Program
This was started in USF in 2003 and continuation of K20 system. It meets the statewide articulation. It was discussed in the meeting that the students are faring very well and most of them maintaining above 3.0 GPA. Initially the program was slow to take off but has been a great success lately. The council discussed the importance of identifying bright students and enrolling them in the program and ways to make them graduate faster with a Master's degree. The council discussed that the students who are accepted are equipped with the required skill sets.
- The Information Technology Program
It's one of the first kinds of programs of its kind and is a small package of course created to meet the demand of the local industry. The meeting discussed that no student can be admitted to USF with AAS degree. The council also highlighted that out of 717 students applying to the University, only 33 were accepted. There will be few foundation courses offered in Information Technology for these students coming from community colleges to ensure quality. Courses already exist in the university and the cost to the university will be advising. It will help vacant seats in the university to get filled up.
