The meeting was called to order at 3:05 p.m.
- The minutes of October 23, 2006 were approved as submitted.
- New course/curriculum proposals
- MHS 4741: Research Process in Behavioral Health ----- was approved
Application of research processes used in the interdisciplinary field of behavioral health including research design, quantitative and qualitative methods, measurement, report writing, dissemination, and grant writing. Open to all majors. The council decided to approve the course with one abstention.
- MHS 4900: Independent Research in Behavioral Health ----- was approved
Students will conduct an independent research project in behavioral health (mental health and/or substance abuse) under the guidance of a faculty mentor. The students learn to write a project and also collect data. This course involves researching on journals. May be repeated for maximum of 8 credits. The course was approved by all.
- Discussion:
- Proposed Catalog Additions:
Some additions were made to the propsed catalog, 2007-2008. This included change from " religious holidays" to "religious days". Also additions were proposed for general attendance requirements in the catalog.
- Associate in Arts Certification Requirements::
A change from "of Arts" to "in Arts" was proposed in the Certification Requirements document.
- Additions to Academic Minor--- USF 2006-2007 Undergraduate Catalog: Tabled till next meeting
- Distribution and Assignment of Course Proposals
- CIS 3363: Network Security and Firewalls---- New course
- CIS 4365: Computer Security Policies and Disaster Preparedness-----New course
The next meeting will be Monday, November 27th , 2006. The meeting was adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
