USF Undergraduate Council - Minutes of October 26, 1998

The meeting was called to order at 3:05 pm.

1. The minutes of October 12, 1998, were not available for approval at this meeting.

2. Announcements: Richard Dietrich and Margaret Hewitt were introduced to the Council. They are serving as substitute members in place of Silvia Fiore and Terry Rose.

3. Discussion and action on proposals

   • LIT 4001 Studies in Literature
     Table continued. We are still waiting for information from other institutions.

   • MAN 4600 International Management
     This course deals with human resources and the use of these resources in the global environment. The course was approved.

   • Theatre Department Curriculum Revision
     The following courses were approved as part of the revision to the Theatre curriculum revision. All course descriptions and prerequisites will be reviewed for consistency before they are forwarded to Tallahassee.

     TPA 2200 Introduction to Technical Theatre I - Appoved
     TPA 2210 Introduction to Technical Theatre II - Approved
     TPA 2290 Technical Theatre Lab I - Approved

     TPA 3004 Introduction to Design I - Approved
     TPA 3018 Introduction to Design II - Approved
     TPA 3208 Drafting and CAD I - Approved
     TPA 3218 Drafting and CAD II - Approved
     TPA 3296 Design Practicum - Approved
     TPA 3298 Advanced Design Practicum - Approved
     TPA 4024 Design Studio I - Approved
     TPA 4026 Design Studio II - Approved
     TPA 4028 Design Studio III - Approved
     TPP 2190 Studio Theatre Performance I - Approved
     TPP 4191 Studio Theatre Performance II - Approved
     TPP 3920 Acting Studio I
     TPP 3921 Acting Studio II

     Two courses - TPP 3920 and 3921 Acting Studio I & II - were tabled. They will be reviewed when a faculty member from the performance area is available to discuss them with the Council.

4. Distribution and assignment of new course proposals, etc.

The next meeting will be Monday, November 9, 1998. The meeting was adjourned at 5:15 pm.
