The meeting was called to order at 3:08 p.m.
- The minutes of October 12, 1998 were approved as submitted. The minutes of October 26, 1998 were approved with the correction that Mary Hardy was absent.
- Announcements - The new members for Nursing and Business have been approved by the Faculty Senate. Letters of appointment should be sent to them by the Provost's office in the near future.
- Proposal Review
- TPP 3920 Acting Studio I and TPP 3921 Acting Studio II - These two courses will be the core requirements for the Theatre Performance concentration. The courses will be team-taught. Following discussion, the courses were approved.
- Theatre Department Curricular Revision - The proposed changes would reduce the core requirements from 34 to 33 hours; restructure of the degree concentrations: Studio, Performance; and Design; reactivate the B.F.A. in Theatre; and restructure the Theatre Education track. The changes were approved.
- REL 3148 Womanist Vision in Religion - This course examines contemporary women writers in the field of religion with emphasis on African-American authors. Council members recommended changes to the course description. The course was approved.
- REL 3375 Issues in Caribbean Religions - The course examines major social and cultural issues in Caribbean religions. This was previously taught as a selected topics course. The course was approved.
- Distribution and assignment of new course proposals, etc.
The next meeting will be Monday, November 23. The meeting was adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
